As the leaves turn to brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow, and the air gets crisper, we all want to indulge in all things fall. Your pup can also partake in the delights that autumn brings! We've rounded up a list of some healthy seasonal treats to keep those tails wagging.
Apple-licious Bites An apple a day keeps the dog-tor away! Slice up some crisp and juicy apples to share! Apples are a great source of vitamins and fiber, make them a paw-some choice for snack time! Just make sure to removed the seeds and core. Bonus points if you add a little bit of peanut butter!
Pumpkin Paw-fections Pumpkin is the ultimate fall ingredient! Whip up some pumpkin puree (make sure it's plain, no added sugars or spices) and spoon it into ice cube trays or a silicone mold for bite-sized frozen treats. This is definitely a favorite for our furry friends!
Carrot Crunchers Carrots are another seasonal favorite for both humans and dogs. Steam or bake some carrot sticks until they're tender but keep some crunch. Pups love the flavor and the texture. High in nutrients and low in calories, carrots are an excellent option for those watching their figure ;)
Sweet Potato Surprise Sweet potatoes are loaded with essential nutrients like vitamins A & C. Slice them into thin pieces and bake them until crisp and watch your pup go wild for this scrumptious snack!
Turkey Time With Thanksgiving around the corner, why not include our four-legged family members in on the feast-ivities too? Cook up some plain turkey, no seasoning or gravy, and cut it into small pieces. Your dog will be thankful for this protein-packed treat!
Remember, moderation is key when it comes to treats. These fall-inspired snacks are meant to complement your dog's regular diet, not replace. Always consult with your vet before introducing new treats, especially if they already have dietary restrictions or allergies. Happy snacking, and enjoy the autumn adventures with your canine companion!
